A future in BC is waiting.
The British Columbia Construction Association’s Integrating Newcomers (BCCA-IN) is a program that helps newcomers to Canada enter the construction workforce in British Columbia.
Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, BCCA-IN facilitates the economic and social integration of immigrants approved for entry into Canada.
The Federal Ministry announced in December 2018 to further fund this initiative which will allow the BCCA to extend this program over four more years.
The BCCA-IN program can support individuals before they arrive in Canada by helping to assess skills, find information about working and living in BC, and connect with employment services and supports. Together these services maximize the opportunity for success in Canada. Here are some ways our Employment Liaisons can help you:
- identify and liaise with employers in the construction industry for opportunities related to their client’s needs
- provide industry-specific information to assist with their search for employment
- connect newcomers and their families to supports in their new community
- refer them to our STEP (Skilled Trades Employment Program) or other settlement service providers for additional support, post-arrival
If you are coming to Canada and are interested in working within the construction sector in beautiful British Columbia, a representative from BCCA-IN wants to talk to you!
