BID DEPOSITORY RULES OF PROCEDURE
Prepared for: Architects, Consultants, and Tendering Authorities
INTRODUCTION
The British Columbia Construction Association Bid Depository is a Provincial system for the receipt of sealed bids from Trade Contractors, which enables General Contractors receiving the bids to obtain firm quotations in writing and in adequate time to compile their tenders completely and accurately. We believe that this is the most fair and equitable process and is in the best interests of Owners, Tender Calling Authorities and General & Trade Contractors and their employees.
This document has been prepared to assist in the preparation of tender documents for projects which are to close through Bid Depository. To assist you we have divided this document as follows:
Section 1
Outlines the value-for-money of the Bid Depository for owners.
Section 2
Provides recommended format and language to include in the Instructions to Bidders in the project documents.
Section 3
Includes a check list to assist in reviewing the project documents to ensure there is not a conflict between the documents and the Bid Depository Rules of Procedure.
Section 4
Lists what the expectations are of Tendering Authorities in the Bid Depository Process and includes a list of frequently asked questions, both pre Bid Depository closing and post Bid Depository closing, and our recommended response or action to be taken .
